Crossing Miranda’s Hotel threshold you have the sense that you travel in the past. That fascinated past with the old captains’ mansions which can only enchants you. This happened to us too. We got fascinated.

HOTEL MIRANDA THROUGH THE YEARS

This old captain’s house of 1810 was converted into a guesthouse in 1961 respecting Hydra Architecture. That’s why it has been listed by the Ministry of Culture. No room is the same as each one had a different use according to the needs and the era the mansion was built.

Stone bedrooms decorated with furniture of that era and lace curtains on the windows turn your staying into a delight of senses. Some rooms are big, other are smaller. There are rooms with view over the garden and others with a large terrace and view over the port. Some of them have painted ceilings. Each one is different and unique.

BREAKFAST AT HOTEL MIRANDA

The breakfast at hotel Miranda is served in the garden. Mr. Christos is taking care of it. He is the one who will wish you good day and he’ll make your eggs as you delight. He prepares for you fresh orange juice and he makes delicious marmalades from the garden’s fruit trees. His desire is to please you and he always asks if you’d like something more.

THE PERSONS OF THE HOTEL MIRANDA

It’s not accidentally selected the title “persons” rather than “staff”. When the business staff puts heart and soul, then the impersonal service turns into “care”. This is the way Mrs. Popi behaves at the reception and Mr. Christos in the Kitchen. They make sure to have good time and offer to you whatever they prepare daily.

Hotel Miranda is located very close to the port and except of an ideal accommodation for those who found themselves in Hydra is an excellent choice for an event, a conference or a wedding.

* I was honoured to be a guest in Hotel Miranda, but as always all opinions in this article are my own.
